15 HAZARDOUS
MATERIALS
This Machining Centre is designed to machine non-hazardous metals only.
Non-hazardous materials such as Tools Steels, Aluminum, and Brass may be
machined.
Machining materials such as graphite and resinous materials may be performed
but in such cases a special Exhaust/Filter system must be fitted. Some
materials produce flammable dusts when machined and particular care should
be taken in these circumstances as the machine is not ATEX compliant and an
explosion could occur. ATEX compliant extraction systems are available at
request.
The Machining Center is not designed to machine any hazardous materials such
as Magnesium Alloys, materials containing Lead or Radioactive materials.
Machining of these hazardous materials can result in extremely dangerous
gases being produced and attempting to machine Magnesium could result in a
fire.
In all cases, if in doubt about the content of the material that you wish to
machine, contact the material supplier and/or the COSHH data sheet.
