Use of brakes and parking
Rotate the accelerator grip away from you to fully
close the throttle. At the same time, apply the front
and rear brakes with even force. Use gear shifting to
slow down. Before the motorcycle comes to a stop,
firmly press the clutch grip (ST-250 Model only), shift
into neutral, and check that neutral indicator light has
appeared on the control panel to ensure that the gear
has been properly engaged.
Warning
The faster the motorcycle in driven, the longer
the braking distance will be. Make sure that you
correctly estimate the distance between you and
the vehicle or object in front of you for adequate
and safe braking performance. Do not rely solely
on either the rear or front brake. This will cause
premature wear and tear, and will also increase the
braking distance required.
Warning
When driving on a wet road or uneven road
surface, and while turning, be extremely gentle
when applying the brakes. Hard braking on these
kinds of surfaces can be very dangerous.
Park the motorcycle on a stable, flat surface.
If you need to park on a gentle slope, use the
side stand and engage first gear to prevent the
motorcycle from sliding off the stand. Remember
to shift to neutral before starting the engine again.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position to
shut down the engine. Remove the key from the
ignition switch and lock the steering bar for safety.
