Control Unit Turned Off & AC Not Connected
Indicator
Description
(Blinking)
Blinking red (once every 10 seconds) indicates Control Unit is not connected to AC power and
reminds to plug into AC power (Charge greater than 30 %�)
(Bl
Audible Alert)
Blinking red (once every 10 seconds) and an audible alert indicates Control Unit is not
connected to AC, the battery has reached a low charge state, and reminds to plug into AC power
immediately� (Charge between 20 % and 30 %�)
(Not illuminated)
Battery icon not illuminated while the Control Unit is turned OFF indicates:
AC power is not connected and battery has reached a critically low state, causing the Control Unit
to enter battery saving mode� (Charge less than 20 %�) Plug into AC power immediately�
OR
AC power is not connected and battery has an error�
Note:
Connecting the Control Unit to AC power and pressing the
Power
button will bring
the Control Unit out of its low power/battery saving mode�
Starting Ultrasound
The sterile, disposable EKOS Device is sold separately� Carefully read the Instructions for Use that is provided with the device for a complete
description, instructions, warnings, cautions and specifications specific to the EKOS Device� The Instructions for Use packaged with the EKOS
Device may still reference the previous Control System (PT-3B) and terminology� All EKOS Devices will function as intended whether connected
to a model PT-3B Control System or a Control System 4�0�
After the physician has placed the EKOS Device into the patient, do the following:
1� If not already ON and at operating temperature, press the
Power
button on the front of the Control Unit and allow it to warm up
before starting ultrasound therapy� (See previous section,
Preparing for Ultrasound Use
�)
When the Control Unit start-up is complete and if the Connector Interface Cable is not connected, both channels are available to Activate
(see Figure 17)�

Pressing the
Activate
button for either channel displays a connect message indicating to plug the Connector Interface Cable into the Control
Unit (see Figure 18)�
