Warnings and information
GEFAHR
Lethal shock as a result of live components at
voltage levels exceeding 50V!
REFU
drive 500
drive units are operated at high volt-
age levels. Any work must always be carried-out with
the drive converter powered-down (the drive con-
verter must be in a no-voltage condition) and locked-
out against accidental re-closure!
Only qualified, trained personnel may carry-out any
work!
If this warning information is not observed, this can
result in death, severe bodily injury or significant
material damage.
The drive unit has hazardous voltage levels up to 5
minutes after it has been powered-down as a result
of the DC link capacitors. This means that it is only
permissible to work on the unit or the DC link termi-
nals after the appropriate time and after a careful
check has been made to ensure that the equipment
really is in a no-voltage condition.
The power and control terminals can be live (at a
dangerous voltage level), even when the motor is
stationary.
If the DC link voltage is centrally supplied, it must be
ensured that the inverter is reliably isolated from the
DC link voltage!
When working on drive units which are open, it
should be noted that personnel could come into
contact with live components (components at a dan-
gerous voltage level).
The user is responsible in ensuring that all of the
units are installed, mounted and connected in com-
pliance with the recognized regulations in the par-
ticular country as well as all other regional regula-
tions which may apply. Especially important are ca-
ble dimensioning, fusing, grounding, disconnection,
isolation and overcurrent protection.
CAUTION
Damage to the drive units as a result of an in-
correct supply voltage!
The REFU
drive 500
units are designed for various
supply voltages! This is the reason that supply volt-
ages are not specified in the drawings and tables for
the terminal strips.
When connecting-up the drive converter always ob-
serve the rating plate and the line supply voltage,
specified in Technical data.
