34 | Troubleshooting
▶ Disconnect the pressure gauges from the pressure heads
points [A] and [B].
▶ Tighten the shutter screws of the pressure heads points [A]
and [B].
▶ Place front cover in the appliance.
▶ Turn ON the appliance to return to normal operation.
10.11 Adjusting Gas/Air flow
The CO
2
can only be adjusted by a certified gas technician
with a calibrated CO
2
analyzer.
The P1 minimum operating gas pressure is 3.5" WC for Natural
Gas and 8" WC for Propane. Do not proceed in adjusting CO
2
until pressure is at or above these levels, but not to exceed
10.5" WC for Natural Gas and 13" WC for Propane.
10.11.1Access to CO
2
measuring port
▶ Open a hot water tap and let the appliance work for 2 or 5
minutes.
▶ Insert CO
2
analyzer probe into the measuring port. The tip
of the probe should be in the center of the Bosch logo
(approx 1.5" inserted).

▶ Use a properly calibrated CO
2
analyzer when making the
following adjustments.
10.11.2Adjusting the maximum flow (Parameter P1)
▶ Press the button to turn ON.
▶ Press and hold simultaneously buttons , and
for 3 seconds, until display reads P2.

▶ Press to enter P2 adjustment. The current setting will
appear on the display (factory default).
▶ Press or until P1 appears.
▶ Turn on high volume of hot water flow (at least 6 gpm) and
burner will light. If heater display reverts to P2, open more
hot water fixtures to allow sufficient flow. Press
until
P1 reappears on the display.
▶ Press or until U1 appears.
▶ Press the button .
The appliance will start the auto adjustment of the
maximum gas flow.
CO
2
adjustment is required in Natural Gas
installations where energy content is less
than 900 BTU/cu ft, and in installations with
repeated unresolved errors (see chapter 11
“Problem solving”).
CAUTION:
▶ One factor that may affect CO
2
levels is
improper gas pressure. Please see
Chapter 6.6 for the procedure to
measure gas pressure and record your
findings.
Always start the adjustments by P1 followed
by P2 .
