Electrocution or injury could occur if the power cord is run over and damaged by the sander. Keep the cord from
contact with the sanding drum and pulleys. Always lift the cord over the machine and sand away from the cord.
Always use an earth leakage circuit breaker which disconnects the power immediately in the event of a fault
in the electrical system or an extension cable.
To avoid unintentional starting of the machine the main cable should be removed from the
wall socket when the machine is not being used and when it is being serviced.
Using a machine with damaged cable can give electrical shocks. Don’t pull the machine with the cable.
Moving parts on this machine can cause serious injury and/or damage. Keep hands, feet, and loose clo-
thing away from all moving parts of the sander.
Operating an edger without all guards, doors, or covers in place can cause injury or damage.
Injury to the operator or bystanders could occur if the machine’s power is on while performing maintenance,
changing sanding paper or changing the dust bag.
WARning
Dust from sanding (i.e. lead paint, certain wood species and metals) is unhealthy face mask min. class P2
must be used.
Injury to the eyes and/or body can occur if protective clothing and/or equipment is not worn while sanding.
Always wear safety goggles, protective clothing, ear protection, and a dust mask while sanding.
Bodily injury could occur if power is applied to the machine with the power switch already in the “ON” position.
Always check to assure the power switch is “OFF” before connecting the machine to its power source.
Take precautions to ensure that the machine is not damaged during transport.
Be careful with cables. Use the right cable of the right length (see accessory list). Never carry the machine
by holding its cable. Never sharply tug cables out from the machine or from wall outlets. Protect cables
from heat, oil and sharp edges.
Unplug the machine when not in use. Make sure the machine is not started unintentionally. Never carry a
connected machine with a hand on the power switch. Make sure that the power switch is not on when the
machine is connected to an outlet. Never use the machine is connected to an outlet. Never use the machine
if the power switch does not function, as it should.
Remove service tools before start. Check that no tools are on the machine during start or during operation.
Check the machine regularly. If any damaged parts are detected, replace them at once. If necessary contact
the manufacturer or an authorized distributor or service company. Note! Use of spare parts and other ac-
cessories than those recommended can cause a risk of personal injury and/or damage to the machine.
Keep the machine in good condition. Keep the machine clean for better and safer use. Follow instructions
regarding replacement of accessories. Check cables regularly. In case of damage, repair or replace de-
fective parts.
When the machine is not in use, store it in a dry and, preferably locked space.
Always use correct original dust bag to Bona’s edger. Check that the dust bag is correct assembled and
is tightened around the dust tube.
Don’t forget to attach an abrasive paper on the sanding disc before starting the machine. By turning the
sanding disc with the hand you can check if the sanding disc with the hand you can check if the sanding
disc is moving feely without restriction. Keep the handles clean and free from grease.
Keep unauthorized persons away from the work place. Do not allow unapproved persons to come in con-
tact with the machine or cables.
Don’t abuse the machine. The machine works better when it is used within its capacity and design. Let the
motor “rest” periodically with a lower load. The motor will cool down and thus have a longer life. Use fuses
with correct amperage in relation to the motor.
Use the right machine. Don’t let a smaller machine or accessories do a bigger machine’s work. Never use
a machine for other than what it was designed to do.
Service and repair of unauthorized persons may cause damages or accidents. Maintenance and repair
made by unauthorized persons may cause that the warranty is not valid. Service and repair shall be done
by Bona or by one of Bona’s authorized distributors.
Pay attention while working. Use common sense. Don’t run the machine if you are tired if you have been
drinking alcohol or taken drugs which can affect your judgment or control of your body. Due to a potential
fire risk form sanding dust do not smoke whilst sanding.
Machine use:
The machine is intended for the edge sanding of wooden floors, parquet floors as well as cork floors. It maybe
used on newly laid and untreated floors and existing floors that have been treated with lacquer or oil.
The main function of the machine is to serve as a complement to a belt or a drum sander for sanding edges.
The machine is designed in accordance with latest information regarding ergonomics, safety and efficiency.
The machine has been thoroughly checked and approved before leaving the factory.
Working method
When sanding hold the machine, use both handles and move
the machine in circles in the direction of rotation over the sur-
face which is to be sanded. It is important that the machine
rests on three points, both the wheels and the sanding disc.
The best result is obtained by letting the machine work with
its own weight. When using fine abrasives you must be careful
not to make any burn marks due to high friction created.
In addition to the points noted the sanding must be adapted
to the type, patter and composition of the floor.
