Rear-seat entertainment
Vehicle features and
options
This chapter describes all standard, country-spe‐
cific and optional features offered with the series.
It also describes features and functions that are
not necessarily available in your vehicle, e.g., due
to the selected options or country versions. This
also applies to safety-related functions and sys‐
tems. When using these functions and systems,
the applicable laws and regulations must be ob‐
served.
General information
Rear-seat entertainment allows occupants in the
rear to access entertainment sources regardless
of the driver's selection. Two screens, different
media connections, and a CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive
are available in the rear for this purpose.
Rear-seat entertainment also provides access to
many iDrive functions.
The sound can be output via headphones or the
vehicle's loudspeakers.
Different entertainment sources can be selected
on the screens.
Entertainment sources selectable from the front
and rear:
▷ Radio stations.
One radio station can be played in the vehicle
only.
▷ Bluetooth connection.
▷ Screen Mirroring.
Entertainment sources selectable from the front
seat only:
▷ USB port in the front.
▷ Depending on the vehicle equipment:
CD/DVD drive in the front.
DVD in the front during vehicle standstill only.
Entertainment sources selectable from the rear
only:
▷ USB port in the rear.
▷ HDMI/MHL connector in the rear.
▷ CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive in the rear.
Screens
General information
Before using the through-loading system, fold in
the screens.
When cleaning the screens, follow the care in‐
structions.
Safety information
Warning
The rear of the screen can become very hot
during operation. There is a risk of injury. Do
not touch the rear of the screen.
Adjust screen tilt
Pull on the bottom edge or press the lower edge
in order to adjust the tilt.
