SYMPTOM
CAUSE
REMEDY
Brush Spins the
wrong direction
Main power phase
flipped
If the main incoming power has been reconnected, switch phases there,
not at the brush motor connections.
Brush wiring phase
flipped
If the wiring between the electrical panel and the brush motor has been
reconnected, switch phases there, not at the main power connections.
Brush Carriage not
level
Cable slipped in Hoist
Drum or cable has
stretched
Some Cable stretch is normal and not a concern. It’s a good idea to
balance the levelness of the brush. This can be done by adjusting the
Cable Take-up Mechanism. To do this, manually raise the Brush Carriage
Assembly until it’s about 24” from the bottom and adjust the cable Take-
up Mechanism until both sides are exactly the same height from the base
plate. Keep in mind, the Cable Take-up Mechanism will affect the height
of the side where the Mechanism is located. Once the adjustment is
completed, firmly tighten both nuts against the welded bracket to lock the
cable Take-up Mechanism in place. The threaded rod on the Cable Take-
up Mechanism is required to have a coating of anti-seize grease especially
when adjusting the nuts.
Manual Up and Down
buttons are reversed
Lower Proximity switch
malfunction or improper
testing after installation.
If the unit rises when you push the down button, release the button, and
push the up button. The unit should go down until it gets to the bottom,
and then it should start rising. After it rises about a foot, quit pushing the
button. Carefully check the lifting cable at the points where it enters and
exits the cable hole through the Hoist Spool. If it has any wear, or broken
strands, replace the cable. Refer to the Lower Proximity Switch test in the
manual, which will describe adjustment or replacement of the proximity
switch.
Nothing Happens
when the Activation
bar is pushed
If the power light is on
Make sure the key switch is set to Auto
Make sure E-Stop switch isn't engaged
If power light is off
Check power at incoming power wiring
Turn on power disconnect switch
Check activation bar proximity switch for adjustment or malfunction
Snow is not
completely removed
from truck
Driver advancing too fast
Travel speed through Durasweeper

should be held to the speed at which
the brush maintains contact with the truck. If the brush senses excessive
snow load, it will raise up to prevent bogging down.
Obstacles on top of truck If there are any obstacles protruding from the top surface of the truck, the
brush will raise, and may leave some snow in those areas.
Interruption during
sweep cycle - E-Stop
button was pushed
If the E-stop button is pushed during a truck sweep cycle, (1) have the
truck driver stop immediately. (2) When the operator is ready to resume
operations, release the E-stop button. (3) Turn the Key Switch to Manual.
(4) Raise the Carriage until it is clear of any obstruction by pushing the UP
button. (5) Turn the Key Switch to Auto. (6) Push the activation bar. The
Carriage will rise to the top, and the brush will start spinning, and a new
sweep cycle will begin. As soon as the spinning brush contacts the truck,
the remainder of the sweep cycle can be completed.
