6. Make daily visual checks for cable wear before use.
7. Check cable pulleys for surface defects that could cause cable damage.
8. Check electrical enclosure seal condition monthly. Replace when needed.
9. Grease the brush bearings monthly. They are located on the opposite end of the brush shaft from
the brush motor.
10. Grease the bearings on the hoist spool monthly. These are located on the opposite end of the hoist
spool shaft from the hoist motor.
11. Gear box oil - Check gearbox oil levels and fill according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
12. For permanently installed units – check monthly for loose anchor bolts, and tighten if needed.
13. Check surface finish of the DuraSweeper
®
monthly. Remove rust, and coat with appropriate paint.
For galvanized surfaces, use a spray cold galvanizing paint. For the powder coated parts, remove
rust and spray enamel.
14. Check Brush wafers and spacers for condition at the start and end of every snow season. Damaged
or failing brush wafers and spacers should be replaced per the replacement method detailed in the
“Changing The Brush Wafers” section.
Long Term Storage
1. Lower the Brush Carriage fully to the bottom, where it will contact the frame.
2. Inspect for worn or damaged parts.
3. Coat with grease or rust inhibitor all exposed metal, seals, and o-rings.
4. Grease all bearings with the grease fittings.
5. Check gearbox oil levels and fill according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
6. Check Electrical Panel seal.
7. Check lifting cables for any damage, corrosion, kinking, broken or cut strands, etc. Replace if any
damage is found.
8. Replace any Safety Labels or decals as necessary.
Removing from Storage
1. Inspect for any worn or damaged parts.
2. Coat with grease or rust inhibitor all exposed metal, seals, and o-rings.
3. Grease all bearings with the grease fittings.
4. Check gearbox oil levels and fill according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
5. Check Electrical Panel seal.
