Engine Runs for 5 Seconds
YES NO See Engine Cranks But Won't Start.
YES NO
Start the engine and verify that the
engine builds oil pressure.
Does the engine build oil pressure?
Repair or replace
waste tank float.
NO YES
Take the engine to an authorized
KOHLER engine repair center.
Connect a continuity meter to the
green wire termial on the KOHLER
engine plug and the engine ground.
Start the engine.
Does the oil sentry switch open?
YES NO Inspect and repair wiring.
Note: Make sure the engine has oil, waste recovery tank is empty,
and you have at least a half tank of gasoline.
Turn OFF all switches: Water Pump and Auxillary switch.
Does the engine start and run for 5 seconds?
Disconnect the waste recovery tank float.
Does the engine run for more than 5 seconds?
