Best practice: Selling your device or giving your device to another person
If you want to sell your BlackBerry® device or give it to someone else, consider the following guidelines:
•
Delete all device data. For more information, click the
Help
icon on the Home screen of your device.
•
If your device does not use a SIM card, your wireless service provider must delete your BlackBerry® Internet Service account or associate
it with a new device. Contact your wireless service provider.
•
If your device uses a SIM card and you plan to provide the new owner of the device with the SIM card, your wireless service provider must
delete your BlackBerry Internet Service account or associate it with a new device. Contact your wireless service provider.
•
If your device uses a SIM card and you want to use your SIM card in a new BlackBerry device, insert the SIM card into your new device,
open the email setup application, and complete the instructions on the screen to associate your BlackBerry Internet Service account with
your new device.
Find your PIN and IMEI, ESN, or MEID
Depending on your wireless service provider, your BlackBerry® device will have either an IMEI, ESN, or MEID.
Perform one of the following actions:

• Search for the PIN and IMEI, ESN, or MEID information on the outside of the box that your device came in.
