11. Connecting and Logging In

11.1 Connecting

There are two methods of connecting to a ServSwitch™ Ultra Remote from a user
station running the Viewer program: the connect menu and the toolbar. Clicking
on the toolbar button causes the Viewer to connect to the Ultra Remote selected in
the remote-computer selection box on the toolbar (shown in Figure 11-1).

The Viewer might not be able to complete the connection for any of these reasons:

• The Ultra Remote is busy with a local user or another Viewer.

• The Ultra Remote’s address is incorrect.

• The Ultra Remote is powered off.

• The network is down.

• Another login has happened at the same time.

In these cases, the Viewer presents the user with an appropriate message, as shown
in Figure 11-2.
