4. Inspecting the portable cutting machine disc before use: :
I. Make sure
there are no loose objects on the device or near it. II. Except for carburetor adjustment screws,
all other bolts, nuts, screws and the fuel tank cap must be tightened properly. Make sure all
rubber oil ducts are properly tightened and that no losses occur. III. Make sure the disc rotates
evenly, that the starter cord may be pulled and directed towards the rear without tangling. IV.
Make sure the accelerator lever, the accelerator full stop button, the air valve handle, the
decompression valve and the emergency stop button are in proper working order. V. Make
sure the disc guard features no visible damage. Adjust the guard as necessary, so that the
sparks generated during cutting are directed away from the operator (ref. Fig. 2).
VI. Make sure the trapezoidal belt is tightened correctly. VII. Make sure the angle grinder features no oil spillages. VIII. Make sure the main
cover and handles are dry and clean.
5. Precautions upon start-up:
1) Maintain a good balance and proper footing. 2) Do not try to turn on the grinder if you find any
faults or if the grinder is not fully and safely assembled or is not properly adjusted. 3) In order to start, place the device firmly on the ground
and make sure the disc does not come into contact with the ground or with the object to be cut. 4) Pull the starter abruptly and gently
direct the cord towards the rear. Do not release the starter half way so that it does not revert to the initial position.
6. Precautions for operation:
I. Maintain a good balance and proper footing and all times, while holding the grinder tightly with
both hands (ref. Fig. 3). II. Push the accelerator lever gently towards the rear in order to gradually accelerate the motor. Wait until the disc
reaches the optimum speed before starting work. III. Slowly move the rotating disc towards the object to be cut, increase the pressure
gradually as the edge of the disc comes into contact with the object. Make sure you operate at the proper cutting depth. IV. Do not change
the cutting direction and do not turn during cutting, as this may lead to a great torque effort on the disc, making it break or crack. Only
move the device in a straight line, forwards and backwards on the cutting line. V. When cutting, maintain a certain distance between your
body and the angle grinder. Make sure you don’t come into contact with the rotating part. VI. Release the pressure on the grinder when the
discs completes the cutting process. The piece cut from the object may fall, so make sure it does not hit any part of your body and that it
does not touch the disc. VII. Whenever you hear an abnormal sound caused by the grinder, immediately stop the cutting process and
inspect (Remember that the muffler and disc are extremely hot at
this point in time so make sure no burns occur). Resume cutting only after the issue is resolved. VIII. Perform no adjustments, service work
or repair on the angle grinder while it is operational. IX. When resuming the cutting process, make sure the disc does not cut at a tilted
angle or is pushed into the cut, as this may cause damages.
7. Refueling precautions:
I. Only refuel the device in a properly ventilated area. II.
Prior to refueling, let the engine cool down naturally. Do not force engine cooling in any way.
III. Carefully remove the fuel tank cap, so that any pressure accumulated within the tank is
released gradually (ref. Fig. 4).
IV. Tighten the cap after refueling and clean fuel spillages, if applicable.
8. Remarks concerning transport:
I. Always turn off the motor prior to moving the grinder. II. When moving the device with the
motor still hot, make sure no burns occur due to the hot muffler. III. Do not let the angle grinder touch the ground or other hard objects.
9. Remarks concerning maintenance:
Any maintenance or repair works must be carried out in a clean and tidy environment.
Use adequate instruments and proceed with care.
10. Do not try to alter the angle grinder in any way. Only use identical spare parts for replacement. 11. The angle grinder is solely designed
for cutting and must not be used to separate or remove objects or as a sharpening tool on the disc sides.
