5. BOILER OPERATION AND CONTROL WITH WOOD LOGS
5.1. BOILER FIRING
Before firing the boilers BiSolid Saver W and BiSolid Saver
С
, please check:
Water quantity in the heating system.
Sealing of the heat-exchanger cover.
Condition of the soot door.
Open the firing flap by lifting and turning the tension rod. Put paper and small wood pieces
over the fire-grate through the fuel feeding door. After closing the fuel feeding door start firing
with burning paper through the ash tray space. After inflammation fill the hopper with wood
logs. After inflammation close the initial firing flap.
During the several first ignitions for checking the optimum flame condition is recommended to
perform control over the quality of burning. It includes tracking the smoke out of the chimney.
Indication for quality burning is the lack of excessive smoke from the chimney – in case it’s a
fact, it means that there is insufficient secondary air in the combustion chamber.
Danger
Do not start the boiler if it’s not connected to a chimney.
Before starting the boiler check its connection with the chimney.
Check the chimney draught. If it is above the recommended values a
draught regulator has to be installed.
When operating hot water boilers from series BiSolid Saver W and BiSolid Saver
С
with wood
logs it is necessary to put the grills and ash box (ash tray) in their correct position, so the
reliable and safe operation of the appliance is secured.
Under the combustion chamber and the fuel hopper is situated two-component moving fire-
grate, which can be easily operated by a lever located on the boiler side.
On figure 9 is presented the positioning of the ash tray and the fire-grates, when firing wood
logs with the boilers from series BiSolid Saver W and BiSolid Saver
