- Yearly scale-down count (Securbase Plus)
It is an access control criterion which enables the transit for a maximum number of days a year.
Protected zone configuration procedure
Within an access control system, it is possible to delimit certain zones for which access must be controlled in a directional mode. That is to say, the transit
through the access points of these zones must be controlled at the entrance and exit, in order to be able to identify with precision the persons inside the
actual zones.
A zone of this kind is called a “protected zone” or “antipassback zone”, to indicate the impossibility of passing through one of the access points in a direc-
tion opposite to the preset one. A practical example of such zones is represented by the entrance and exit points of a trade fair or a stadium. These are
separated to ensure separation of the entrances (subject to payment) from the exits (free).
The main configuration characteristic of the readers in a protected zone is that each of them must be programmed to control transiting through an access
point in one direction only, i.e. either entrance or exit.
Securbase Light allows a protected zone to be set, and any of the 16 readers controlled to be associated with the zone as an entrance or exit point. Secur-
base Plus allows up to 8 protected zones to be set, and any one of the 32 controllable readers to be associated with one of these zones, as an entrance
or exit point.
The setting of an access point as belonging to a zone determines the logical creation of a zone, since an access point is allocated to it as an entrance or
exit point. After a zone has been created, it become automatically possible to display the list of persons who have passed through an entrance point to the
protected zone, and are therefore still present inside the zone in question.
Moreover, Securbase Plus features a function for graphical setting of the protected zones, i.e. the creation of the 8 protected zones, starting from the
graphical display of the access points and zones activated in the system
[MANAGEMENT OF ACCESS POINTS --> MANAGEMENT OF ZONES]
The “active zones” are those already activated in [System management -> General settings -> Compass SC].
When one of the zones present is ticked (1 for Securbase Light, up to 8 for Securbase Plus), such zone becomes an active protected zone for all purposes,
both on Compass SC and on Securbase Light/Plus.
Therefore, “Management of zones” will display form one to eight active zones, and also all the readers available which can be associated with the various
zones.
Each zone is graphically displayed together with an icon for entrance and one for exit; a reader is graphically associated with a zone by dragging the reader
on the icon for a zone entrance or exit point.
After dragging and associating the readers with the various zones, as entrance or exit points, the readers are displayed in a different predefined way; at
this point it is possible to memorise the configuration which has been created.
Installation monitoring [ACCESS POINT CONTROL]
After the installation has been configured and programmed (in terms of system parameters, access point control devices, persons associated with recogni-
tion devices), all the events which take place in the installations are stored inside the Compass SC memory.
The actual access control is autonomously operated by Compass SC, also in the periods when there is no communication with Securbase Light/Plus.
The transfer of the data stored in Compass SC to the database present on the PC only takes place during the direct connection with Securbase Light/Plus.
This operation, called event synchronisation, is activated with the execution of the Securbase Light/Plus program, which manages to communicate with
the relevant Compass SC.
The result of the synchronisation lead to constant updating of the database on the PC, so that all the events occurred in the installation and controlled by
Compass SC are transferred each time to the database on the PC.
After connection between Compass SC and Securbase Light/Plus, the Compass SC event memory is downloaded until completely empty. Subsequently,
every further event detected in the installation is stored in the internal Compass SC memory and then transferred to the database on the PC, if possible.
These are the events which are usually detected by the Compass SC board:
-
Authorised transit of a person through an access point
-
Unauthorised transit and therefore stopping of a person at the entrance of an access point
-
Date change event
-
Person entry/change event (event on system reader)
-
Alarm events (e.g. door-open event)
-
Information events (e.g. Compass SC power down due to power failure)
Types of display
For both Securbase Light and Plus versions, there are three types of event display; each can be activated at any time by means of a specific application
board.
-
Event displa.. [ACCESS POINT CONTROL --> EVENT DISPLAY]
This display appears in a tabular form, and always highlights the latest events detected in the installation.
The details of a particular event can be displayed by clicking the mouse on the event in question.
-
Antipassback displa.. [ACCESS POINT CONTROL --> ANTIPASSBACK DISPLAY]
The antipassback display appears in a tabular form and always highlights the entrance points relating to a protected zone. Securbase
Light displays the incoming transits of persons who have entered the only protected zone managed.
Securbase Plus, instead, displays the congestion status of all the 8 protected zones which can be activated within the system. There-
fore, one of the 8 protected zones can be selected at any time from among those activated during configuration in “System manage-
ment-> General settings -> Compass SC”.
-
Graphical displa.. [ACCESS POINT CONTROL --> GRAPHICAL DISPLAY]
Graphical display is the mode used to obtain a real-time display of the installation, and in particular of the transit events with the
relevant details. Each event regarding transit through a determined access point is displayed in graphical form, specifying some iden-
tification details of the person who has passed through the point.
