Function
The presence detectors connected in parallel operate as independent units.
The shut-off delay and the minimum brightness are adjusted independently on each
presence detector.
When any of the parallel presence detectors switches on the lighting (load), the
other presence detectors will recognize switching by means of the so-called load
line monitoring function.
In this case, the „minimum brightness“ switch-on criterion is fulfilled for all presence
detectors. This means that another parallel presence detector will switch on as well
whenever it detects a movement within its detection range.
Continued movements within its detection range retrigger the shut-off delay.
Important:
A presence detector will not switch on - even when movements are
detected - if the brightness on the surface monitored by the detector is
twice as high as the preset value.
The lighting is switched off when
•
none of the detectors detects further movements and when the longest remaining
shut-off delay has elapsed.
•
in all detectors the brightness on the monitored surface durably exceeds the
preset value by at least the double.
The ON time is therefore determined by the presence detector switching off as the
last in the chain.
7. Settings (Fig. J)
To set the brightness or the shut-off
delay, remove first the trim ring (5) from
the presence detector to gain access to
the potentiometers.
LED (4) serves as a diagnosis and
adjusting aid (see „Function of the LED“,
page 43) and is only visible when the
trim ring is removed.
After the adjustment, put the trim ring
back in place. The nose of the brightness
sensor must engage in the
corresponding notch (3) in the trim ring.
Shut-off delay
The shut-off delay is the time during
which the lighting remains on even if no
movements are being detected anymore.
With the „time“ potentiometer (1), the
shut-off delay can be adjusted in small
steps.
