4. Fitting instructions
The presence detector for surface-
mounted applications has an integrated
power booster.
The presence detector is fitted
exclusively under ceilings and monitors
the working surface below (fig. A).
The detector cannot be combined with
components of the BLC System series.
Selecting a suitable fitting location
The field of detection should not be
restricted by furniture, columns, etc. (see
also „Field of detection“).
Avoid direct sunlight intor the sensor
window. Do not place the presence
detector during fitting into direct
sunlight. There is otherwise a risk of
irreparable damage to the sensor due
to high-intensity heat radiation.
The brightness sensor (1) should be
installed on the side opposite the window
(fig. B) to prevent it from being influenced
by undesired scattered light.
The presence detector must be installed
vibration-free as switching action might
also be triggered by movements of the
sensor.

Sources of interference
Do not install the detector in the vicinity
of a heat source, as, for instance, a lamp
(fig. C). Cooling of the lamp may be
detected by the PIR sensors as a ther-
mal change and lead to repeated
switching.
If necessary, restrict the field of detection
with the snap-on mask supplied (see
„Snap-on mask“, page 40).
Do not install close to fans, radiators or
ventilation ducts. Air draughts (eg. also
from open windows) may be detected
by the sensors and lead to repeated
switching.
5. Fitting
The device is equipped with a cable inlet
(1) for flush-mounted wiring as a standard
feature (fig. D).
For an additional cable inlet or for wiring
on the surface, the provided breakout (2)
in the connecting box must be opened.
Fix the connecting box with 2 screws at
the place of fitting.
Fasten with the plug/screw set supplied
through the holes (3) (fig. D)
