3.1 Preview Settings

The Preview Settings window is where you can configure your scanning preferences. You can specify if 
you want to scan in color or black and white, image quality, page layout and more.

To view the Preview Settings window:

1. Select 

Preview Settings

 from the 

Scan

 menu.

The Preview Settings window appears.

3.1.1 Mode

The Mode drop-down list provides multiple scanning modes. Table 6, "Mode Options and Descriptions" 
lists the available mode options and their descriptions. 

Mode

Description

Black and White

Bitonal, image is threshold to either black or white 

256-Level Gray

High quality image, large file size, image is threshold to 256 shades of gray

24-bit Color

High quality image, large file size, image is threshold to 24-bit color

Binary&Color

Image output is dual bitonal and 24-bit color

Binary&Gray

Image output is dual bitonal and 256 shades of gray
