8.6 Diagnostic sequence in
Acknowledge Mode

Because the administrator has not yet acknowledged the diagnosis
(Acknowledge pending), the outgoing diagnostic information is stored on
the BusHead.
The administrator acknowledges the diagnosis by setting the
corresponding BusHead control bit to
1
.
The error code of the corresponding diagnosis is set to 0 because the
diagnosis no longer exists. The corresponding bit in the BusHead status
byte is set to
0
.
The administrator detects the change in the status byte (outgoing
diagnosis) and resets the corresponding bit in the BusHead control bite to
0
.
The BusHead detects resetting of the acknowledge bits in the control and
then deletes the entire diagnostic block. Diagnostic Code =
0
. The
diagnostic block is only available for the next diagnosis when all other
diagnoses have been acknowledged and are inactive.
Case 2: Acknowledgment of active diagnosis
A diagnosis is entered in the first free diagnostics block, Diagnostic Code
!= 0. The "Active" bit in byte 2 of the diagnostic block and the
corresponding BusHead status are set to
1
.
The administrator acknowledges the diagnosis by setting the
corresponding BusHead control bit to
1
.
The diagnostic code of the corresponding diagnosis is not changed,
because the diagnosis is still present. The corresponding bit in the
BusHead status byte remains set to 1.
The diagnosis no longer exists. The "Active" bit 7 in byte 2 of the
diagnostic block is set to
0
.
The administrator detects the change in the status byte (outgoing
diagnosis) and resets the corresponding bit in the BusHead control bite to
0
.
The BusHead detects resetting of the acknowledge bits in the control and
then deletes the entire diagnostic block. Diagnostic Code =
0
. The
