7.0 Energiemanagement
Approximately 5 minutes after last key operation,
the instrument switches off automatically (auto-
power-off). To switch the instrument on again, turn
rotary switch from the „OFF" position to the desired
function.
8.0 Maintenance
When using the instrument in compliance with the
instruction manual, no special maintenance is re-
quired.
8.1 Cleaning
If the instrument is dirty after daily usage, it is ad-
vised to clean it by using a damp cloth and a mild
household detergent.
Prior to cleaning, ensure that instrument is
switched off and disconnected from external
voltage supply and any other instruments con-
nected (such as UUT, control instruments,
etc.).
Never use acid detergents or dissolvants for
cleaning.
9.0 Battery Replacement
If the battery symbol (8) appears in the display, pro-
ceed with battery replacement.
Prior to battery replacement switch off the in-
strument and disconnect from all measure-
ment circuits and test leads.
The correct polarity of the batteries is shown
on the battery casing bottom.
Respect battery polarity to avoid instrument
destruction, explosion or fire.
Only use batteries complying with the techni-
cal data specifications!
For battery replacement, please proceed as
follows:
Switch off the instrument and disconnect from all
measurement circuits and test leads.
Loosen the screws on the instrument rear. Lift the
battery case cover (by slightly tapping the in-
strument in the palm of your hand).
Remove the discharged batteries.
Insert new batteries and ensure there is correct
polarity.
Replace the battery case cover and retighten the
screws.
The instrument is now ready for further mea-
surements.

Never try to disassemble battery cells !The bat-
tery contains highly alkaline electrolyte. Dan-
ger of causticization ! If electrolyte gets in con-
tact with skin or clothing, rinse immediately
with water. If electrolyte gets in contact with
the eyes, immediately flush by using clean
water and consult a doctor.
Please consider your environment when you
dispose of your one-way batteries or accumu-
lators. They belong in a rubbish dump for haz-
ardous waste. In most cases, the batteries can
be returned to their point of sale.
