If the instrument shows the pin assignment as
indicated in Figure 5.7.6, i.e. the symbol 'turn
mains plug' (5) is blinking, the test cannot be
started. An acoustic signal is audible when
starting the test. The shockproof plug must be
turned or L and N of the connected test leads
must be exchanged.
For socket testing touch the contact electrode
'PE' (21)..
If the test instrument indicates ‘”
” (14),
'socket error' (4) and 'PE error’ (16), or 'con-
tact voltage' (15) symbols, as shown in Figure
5.7.7, either the protective conductor (PE) is
open or a voltage is present! This is a fatal error
and must immediately be eliminated!
