Storing and Retrieving Configuration Files

There are times when you need to load the configuration from one
Nautica router into another.

Loading configuration onto a router is best done if the router is in
its default state, this is achieved by using the defcon verb
(Appendix A).

Saving Configuration Information to a File

Router configuration can be saved to a file by using Nautica
Wizard or BCC. To use Nautica Wizard, refer to the Nautica
Wizard Reference Guide on the router installation CD.

To download the configuration of a unit to a file using BCC, the
configuration for the unit is displayed while logging it into a text
file using your terminal emulation.

If you are using a Telnet program that supports the copy and paste
facilities, all you need do is list the configuration as explained in
the next section and then copy the required information. defcon
the unit (Appendix A), and then paste the configuration back into
the unit.

Showing the Configuration

At any prompt, the sh verb used with the config variable lists the
entire configuration of the unit onto the screen. This is the
information that needs to be copied.

For more information on the show verb, refer to Appendix A.

There is a problem, however, with using the sh config command.
Entering the command without any modifiers causes the unit to
display the configuration one page at a time. While the data can
be copied this way, it is very tedious.

To show all the configuration directly to the screen, type the
following at any prompt:
