ISDN Callback
Callback allows extra security on a unit. If a call comes into the
unit from an ISDN CLI, the unit disconnects the incoming call
and places a call to the path or IP address shown in the ISDN
callback. Callbacks save on cost as all ISDN callback calls are
billed centrally and controlled by this unit.
Callback numbers are defined at the isdn# object and then
assigned to a path or an IP address.
Using the ISDN Callback Function
When you first install the router there are no callbacks created.
Once you have made some callbacks, it is possible to list them.
At the isdn# prompt type ls -l. A list similar to the following
appears:
isdn# ls -l
callback/654321/remoteppp
callback/987654/wat1
callback/234567/192.168.1.0
isdn#
Creating and modifying Callbacks
To create or modify a callback, use the following syntax at the
isdn# object prompt:
[co] is [mod|new] ca number/name
where co takes the BCC into config mode (if required), is is the
MTD that moves the router to the isdn# object, new and mod are
the new and modify verbs (optional), ca is the MTD for callback,
number is the number to call back and name is the path along
which the callback is made.
