9. OPERATING ACURAS
Introduction
Acuras is the module of the Auto Alignment Head that measures color and brightness on each channel of a display and that can
make adjustments to the projector settings to come as close as possible to a reference state of this display.
From the Acuras page you can capture a set of data (i.e. store projector settings and measure the current display state) or you can
realign a display (i.e. adjust projector settings restore the captured situation as good as possible). If an Acuras 1-point position type
has been de
fi ned, only a single point Acuras capture/realign can be performed. If the Acuras Multi-point position type has been
de fi ned, Acuras capture/realign can be performed in Single point mode or in Multi-point mode.

Prior to running the Acuras capture and realignment, all stray lights must be extinguished, the dome or display
area must be kept fully dark. This includes infrared (IR) sources, such as illuminators for IR cameras.

9.1 Acuras Capture
Acuras Capture
Acuras acts as a Realignment tool. Its purpose is to restore the original brightness and colors on a later moment. Therefore,
Acuras must fi rst learn how the initial colors and brightness look by using the Acuras Capture procedure. When executing Capture,
the colors and brightness of the initial system alignment at the center (Acuras 1-point) or at the 9 gimbal positions (Acuras Multi-point)
of each projector channel are stored. To be able to restore the originally stored brightness value on a later moment, suf
fi cient margin
on all projector dimmer positions is required during a Capture. Therefore, a dimmer position up to 8000 (= 80%) maximal is allowed
at Capture time. If any of the dimmers in the projectors on which the Capture procedure is executed has a dimmer value higher than
80%, an error will be returned by Acuras Capture.
Capture must be executed for each Golden Alignment individually. To do so, activate the Golden Alignment and run the Acuras
Capture procedure.
