Overview of Displaying Text on the CK 2.2 LCD Screen
BKC-DIP allows text to be written to the entire LCD screen of the CK 2.2 Keypad. While
the keypad does support lower case characters, the LCD display is intended for display
of capital letters.
The CK 2.2 Keypad shall respond to LCD display commands in one of two different
formats. Based on a setting in the CK 2.2 Keypad editor, the CK 2.2 can be set to
display text in either SEVEN CHARACTER MODE, or ELEVEN CHARACTER MODE.
While in ELEVEN CHARACTER MODE the CK 2.2 Keypad will ignore any commands
specifying a seven character display function. While in SEVEN CHARACTER MODE the
CK 2.2 Keypad will ignore any commands specifying an eleven character display
function.
SEVEN CHARACTER MODE is the default setting for all CK 2.2 Keypads. This setting
makes the text display capabilities of the CK 2.2 Keypad compatible with B&K Legacy
products.
A setting in the CK 2.2 Keypad editor shall determine if the CK 2.2 Keypad shall respond
to ELEVEN CHARACTER commands (a BKC-DIP "W" command), or respond to
SEVEN CHARACTER commands (a BKC-DIP "L" command). A CK 2.2 Keypad can
also be set to either ELEVEN or SEVEN character mode with a BKC-DIP command. The
following commands describe how to set the CK 2.2 Keypad into either of these modes.
