Sending Messages to a CK 2.2 Keypad via RS232
Creating an RS232 command to control the Keypad is simple. The message has start
with a parenthesis, each parameter is separated from the next with a comma and you
must end the last parameter with a semi-colon and a closing parenthesis. You can
instruct any keypad or all of them to:
Jump to a Specific Page Options for
Display Purposes:
1 Jump to the Main Menu, select any
page 1 through 255
2 Jump to any Device, Page 1 through
255
3 Jump to FAV, Page 1 through 10
TRIGGER Options for an IR Command
or Macro to be EXECUTED:
1 Jump to the Main Menu, Page 1 through
255; then a button press
2 Jump to any Device, Page 1 through 255; then a button press
3 Jump to the FAV, Page 1 through 10; then a button press.
The CK 2.2 needs a short delay to digest an RS232 string. Do not send more than one
string every 1/2-second for jump commands. For Button Execute commands, be aware
that while the keypad is executing a macro, it will ignore any RS232 messages sent to it.
Enter Keypad ID# in Hexadecimal
The keypad ID# must be in Hexadecimal numbering 0 to FF (0-255) where FF (255) is
the Global ID used to control ALL keypads regardless of their ID#. Do not add any 0’s to
a single digit number. For example if you are addressing a Keypad with the ID # of 3, do
not type in 03, just 3. The ID# is followed by a comma.
