4.1.4 Assembling the sensor head

The sensor head can be installed with or without

insulators. For the selection of screws, torques, etc., see

Tab. 4-3.

Screws and washers included with mounting

accessories (see section 10.5 on page 33).

For rotary movements the use of the installation

aid BAM TO-ML-018-01 is strongly

recommended (see

Installing sensor head for

arc-shaped applications (rotary motion < 360°)

and

Installing sensor head for ring applications

(rotation motion ≥ 360°)

on page 14).

Preparations

Installing sensor head for linear motion

Fasten the left or right side of the sensor head to the

machine member while observing the distances and
tolerances (see Fig. 4-1) (see Fig. 4-6 and Fig. 4-7).

Secure the screws against unintended loosening (e.g.

with locking paint).
