6-2 Preset Moves & PLC Task
MN1901
6.2 Preset moves
The standard MintDrive
II
can store 16 preset moves. If the CAN & Auxiliary I/O option is fitted,
256 preset moves can be stored. Presets can be selected and triggered using software
(WorkBench v5 or a Mint program) or by using a combination of the digital inputs.
In WorkBench v5, the Presets tool displays an interactive table allowing you to set up the
preset moves. WorkBench v5 reads the current preset data from the MintDrive
II
whenever you
switch to the Presets tool. Preset tables can be saved in files on the PC and downloaded to
the MintDrive
II
from WorkBench v5. For the following explanation, the MintDrive
II
must be
connected, powered and ready to be enabled. The MintDrive
II
must also be in Position Control
Mode, which can be selected using the Operating Mode Wizard in WorkBench v5.
6.2.1 Defining a preset move
1. In the WorkBench v5 Toolbox, click
Application
then click the
Presets icon. Existing presets will be read from the MintDrive
II
and
displayed in the presets table.
2. Each preset is shown on a separate row in the table. To define (or
edit) a preset, click one of the preset numbers in the Index column.
3. On the selected row, click in the Type column. The drop-down box
allows you to select the type of move, which may be an absolute
or relative positional move, a jog move, a homing move or a set
position. The Value column will change accordingly.
4. Click in the Value column to set the appropriate value. Any values entered in the preset table
to specify a position, slew speed, acceleration, or deceleration are interpreted as user units.
H
For an absolute move, the value represents the absolute position to which the axis will
move when the preset is used.
H
For a relative move, the value represents the amount by which the axis will move
relative to its existing position when the preset is used.
H
For a set position, the value represents the new axis position that will be set when the
preset is used. No movement will occur.
H
For a jog move, the value represents the direction in which the axis will jog.
H
For a homing move, the value represents the type of homing move to be performed:
Pos index
causes the axis to move forwards until a home input is triggered.
Neg index
causes the axis to move backwards until a home input is triggered.
Pos index offset
causes the axis to move forwards until a home input is triggered and
then continue forwards to an offset distance defined by
HOMEOFFSET
.
Neg index offset
causes the axis to move backwards until a home input is triggered
and then continue backwards to an offset distance defined by
HOMEOFFSET
.
Position search
causes the axis to move towards a specific position defined by
HOMEREFPOS
. The value of
HOMEREFPOS
may be set by a Mint program, or by using
the Parameters tool in WorkBench v5.
5. Click in the Slew speed, Acceleration and Deceleration boxes to set appropriate values for
the move profile.
6. Click
Apply
to download the presets table to the MintDrive
II
.
