Check battery for correct electrolyte level and corrosion on the terminals.
1. Check battery terminals for corrosion (a white or yellowish powder). To remove it, clean the
terminals with a solution of baking soda.
2. Wash the solution off with plain water. Dry off the battery with a cloth or paper towel.
3. Always disconnect the negative (-ve) cable first and while reconnecting negative (-ve) cable
should be connected last.
4. Use a proper wrench to loosen and remove cables from the terminals. Coat the terminal with
petroleum jelly to prevent corrosion.
Warning:
Do not allow battery electrolyte to come in contact with eyes, skin, fabrics or painted surfaces. It
can cause burns & damage to exposed parts. Wear rubber gloves.
