Firmware updates will be made available for the EX-8 as
new features are added or as ease of use is improved.
There are two types of firmware updates that are
available for the EX-8.
For detailed information about firmware updates, and to
check for available updates, please visit
www.ayre.com/ex8_support.htm.
Do not turn off the EX-8 while updates are
in progress.
Network Firmware Updates
If the Network option is installed in your EX-8,
firmware updates can be performed automatically over
the internet.
Whenever the unit enters System-sleep mode, it will
attempt to contact Ayre’s servers and check for available
updates. If any are found, you will be prompted to
download and install the them. You may also manually
check for updates using the menu.
USB Firmware Updates
The system (SYS) and signal processing (DSP) firmware
can be updated using the USB Firmware Update port on
the rear of the unit.

network may take up to 30
minutes, depending on your
network connection.
