8. Energize the external control and fan power sources only.
A. Check the 460 VAC fan voltage and verify the voltage is within 10% of the required
voltage.
B. Check the 120 VAC control voltage and verify the voltage is within 10% of the
required voltage.
C. Remove all sources of power.

Energize 460 VAC fan power. Verify individually that each fan is rotating in the correct
direction. Airflow should be vertical through the Load Bank with air being pulled in from
below the Load Bank and discharging through the top (roof mounted) gravity exhaust
hatches.
10.
Verify that airflow switches are functional.
11.
Verify that overtemperature switches are functional.
12.
Disconnect all sources of power.
13.
Ensure that all access doors are closed and all 1/4 turn latches are secure.
14.
If the Load Bank has been idle for more than three months or traveled over the road under
winter salt or construction debris/dust, refer to Section VI of this manual and perform the
maintenance procedure recommended.
CONFIGURATION
1.
For testing above 4570 volts, the configuration jumpers J1-J48 must be removed prior to use.
To remove, hold the inboard hex nut, which is welded to stud, with a wrench; then loosen
outboard nut. Repeat for all locations.
2.
For testing below 4570 volts, the configuration jumpers (J1-J48) may be used to maximize
resistive load. All jumpers must be on all locations. Tighten hex nuts to 30 ±10 ft. lbs.
