Description

EIPEs (Expecs) list with
M3900 firmware and
EIPE load files

Expecs (EIPEs) are listed with the following information:

• Name

• IP Address

• Avaya 3900 firmware and EIPE load file descriptions: File

name, Timestamp, File size

• Free Space available on the Expec

• Total Space on the Expecs

Select Expec button

Opens a window for selecting Expecs. The Expecs that are
listed in the tool window are available for performing firmware
maintenance operations. The Select Expecs window used here
is the same as that used in the Expec Load tool.

Release Expec button

Releases selected Expecs. Released Expecs are then not
available to the user of the tool until they are re-added.

Add Load button

Opens a window for selecting and transferring an Avaya 3900
firmware load file to one or more Expecs.

Delete Load button

Opens a window for deleting Avaya 3900 firmware load files
from one or more Expecs.

Get Sets button

Opens a window for selecting sets on the selected EIPE.

Release Sets button

Releases or deletes sets from list of Avaya 3900 sets.

Schedule Firmware
Download button

Opens a window to schedule the firmware download for
selected sets.

Download Firmware
button

Initiates the immediate download of firmware to the selected
sets.

The same file servers and method for selecting them that is used for the Expec Load tool is

also used for the Avaya 3900 tool. Once file servers are defined in the Optivity Telephony

Manager for Meridian SL-100 server, Avaya 3900 load files can be selected. The correct file

name and type should be verified to make sure it is a valid Avaya 3900 firmware load, before

transferring it to any EIPE.

Once Avaya 3900 sets are listed in the bottom half of the window, the

buttons are used for the actual downloading. All scheduled

firmware download tasks can be viewed in the Scheduler tool (see

Avaya 3900 firmware download process

The Avaya 3902, 3903, 3904, and 3905 Digital Deskphones can be upgraded to the latest

firmware available. The Expec in the EIPE does the firmware upgrade process. The Optivity
