Data storage using NOAH
FastFacts 6.9: Data storage using NOAH
Overview:
The Verifit NOAH module transfers hearing instrument test (HIT),
audiometric and real-ear measurement (REM) data between the Verifit and the
NOAH 3 framework via a proprietary serial cable. Data are stored as an action in
the NOAH 3 client session list. Stored data may not be viewed or printed on the
PC; it must be sent back to the Verifit for viewing or printing. Selected public data
(HL, UCL, RECD) may be exchanged with other NOAH modules through the
NOAH framework. The module software and proprietary cable are packaged as an
optional accessory kit (VA-200).
Requirements:
The NOAH Module works on any PC running Windows 2000 or
Windows XP Pro and the NOAH 3 framework, and having a 9-pin RS232 serial
(COM) port. The Verifit must be running software 2.2 or higher.
Connecting to the PC:
Connect the 9-pin RS232 serial cable to the back of the
Verifit. Then connect the other end of the cable to a dedicated RS232 connector
on the PC. Note the number of the COM port (i.e. COM1, 2, 3 or 4); you will be
asked for it during installation of the module software. It can be changed later by
selecting Setup from the Verifit NOAH module menu bar.
Installing module software:
Place the software CD in the CD drive of the PC that
will be running the NOAH module and launch NOAH 3.
From the Main menu select
Tools/Setup/Install Module.
Select
Install New Module.
Navigate to the CD drive containing the Verifit CD and
click on Install.ini and then [Open]. Follow the on-screen instructions.
For instructions on using the module, see
