2. If Transducer Extension Cables (P/N: 8HP-TEC24) are installed, make sure that the out casing of the
connectors are not touching the outer casing of any of the other Transducer Extension Cables.
3. Re-route any data cables from other system's away from the electronic's modules.
4. Turn off other subsystem's one by one to determine which system is injecting the most noise into the
sonar.
5. If possible move noise inducing systems and/or verify system grounds throughout the vehicle to
improve EMI & Noise Interference.
6. If possible provide extra external shielding to the Scout MkII electronics modules.
The figures show the effect of increased noise on the 1800 kHz returns by indicating levels below a specific
noise threshold as black pixels on the display. In a real-world environments, an increase in noise would
cause the sonar returns to be washed out.
