Follow this start procedure when the unit is put in operation for the first
time and when there is air in the fuel system after running out of fuel
or changing the fuel filter.

Fuel prefilter
–
Remove the vent screw (1) of the fuel prefilter.
–
Operate the hand pump (2) at the prefilter until fuel comes out of
the bore for the vent screw, and air is completely removed from
the fuel system.
–
Reinstall the vent screw until the prefilter is closed.
–
Operate the circuit breaker button (
Fig. 3.10
, F1) at the right side
of the control panel (open right-hand service door first).
–
Switch the start/stop button (
Fig. 3.10
, S) to position ”I”. The fuel
solenoid valve will be excited.
–
Push the start/stop button in position ”
”. 20 sec. cranking, 1
min. rest (= a cycle). Max. 3 cycles are allowed. The starter motor
will set the engine in motion. After the start/stop button is
released, it automatically springs back to position ”I”.
–
Run the engine a few minutes at no-load to warm up.

1. That regulating valve (
Fig. 2.2
, RV) is correctly adjusted, i.e.
starts decreasing the engine speed when reaching the preset
working pressure in the receiver.
2. Check the air filter vacuum indicators (
Fig. 2.2
, VI). If the yellow
piston reaches the red marked service range, replace the filter
element. Reset the indicators by pushing the reset button.
3. On compressors with aftercooler, check that the automatic drain
of the water separator is operative without air leakage.
