5. Hourmeter (P1) does not
count running time.
a. Hourmeter defective.
b. Loose connections or damaged wiring.
a. Replace hourmeter.

6. Engine is running, but shuts
down immediately after
start button (S) has been
released.
a. Start button (S) released too soon.
b. Insufficient engine oil pressure.
c. Fuel tank contains insufficient fuel.
d. Low coolant level.
e. Engine oil pressure shutdown switch, engine
coolant temperature switch or compressor
temperature switch defective.
a. Release button after engine oil pressure has
built up above the minimum allowed level.
b. Stop at once, consult the engine instruction
manual.
c. Fill fuel tank.
d. Top up cooling system.
e. Remove and test switches. Replace if out of
order.
7. Compressor is loaded
automatically to full
capacity after starting.
a. Loading valve stuck in loading position.
b. Air intake throttle valve stuck in opened
position.
c. Air leaks in regulating system.
a. Remove and dismantle loading valve.
Correct if necessary.
b. Check and repair.
c. Check hoses and their fittings. Stop leaks;
replace leaking hoses.
8. Unit does not load after
pressing the loading valve
button.
a. Regulating valve defective.

9. Engine does not speed up
immediately after
compressor loading valve
button has been pressed and
compressor does not deliver
air.
a. Regulating valve defective.
b. Air intake throttle valve stuck in closed
position.
a. Check and repair.

10. Excessive compressor oil
consumption. Oil mist
being discharged from air
outlet valves.
a. Compressor oil level too high.
b. Flow restrictor in oil scavenge line of air
receiver clogged or position of scavenge line
incorrect.
c. Oil separator element defective.
a. Check oil level. Release pressure and drain
oil to correct level.
b. Remove hoses and clean flow restrictor.
Have position of scavenge line checked by
an Atlas Copco Service representative.
c. Have element removed and inspected by an
Atlas Copco Service representative.
11. Compressor capacity or
pressure below normal.
a. Air consumption exceeds capacity of
compressor.
b. Choked air filter elements.
c. Regulating valve defective or set incorrectly.
d. Engine does not run at max. speed.
e. Blow down valve stuck in opened position.

Loading valve leaking.
a. Check equipment connected.
b. Remove and inspect elements.
c. Check setting or dismantle and inspect
valve.
d. Check max. speed; service the fuel filter.
e. Check and correct if necessary.
f.
With compressor running at max. load
speed, disconnect hose leading to unloader.
If air leaks from the hose, remove and
inspect loading valve. Replace if necessary.
