– Escape route door
function/panic
function Doors with an Escape route door function can be opened at any time in the escape direction (usually
from the inside) using the door handle, even when the door is locked. The doors are equipped with an
escape route door fitting (e.g. a panic touch bar) in the escape direction.
– Inside handle The door handle in the escape direction (usually from the inside).
– Outside handle The door handle in the opposite direction to the escape direction (usually from the outside).
– Rebate gap The Rebate gap is the distance between the faceplate and strike plate (Fig. 3).
1 Closing latch The latch is retracted by the lever handle or the knob/lever when the door is opened.
2 Bolt The bolts are always extended 20 mm when the door is closed.
3 Cylinder screw
mount The Cylinder screw mount is intended for fixing the locking cylinder into the lock case using a cylinder
screw.
4 Faceplate The Faceplate is screwed to the door.
5 Lock follower /
latch pin The Latch pin is a four-edged pin which is inserted through the lock follower and ends in the door
handle. The latch pin is also split in lock mechanisms with split lock followers .
6 Lock case The Lock case contains the lock mechanism.
7 Cylinder recess The locking cylinder is installed in the Cylinder recess and screwed in place using the cylinder screw.
A Backset The Backset is the distance from the keyhole centre to front edge of the faceplate.
B Centres
(distance) The Centres (distance) is the distance between the centre of the keyhole and the centre of the lock
follower.
C Deadbolt throw The Deadbolt throw indicates how far the bolt can be extended.
