Before Using the Handset

You can activate Speech launcher by tapping the back of the
handset twice while the display is turned off. Speak your
commands needed to activate intended apps to activate them.
Make settings for Switch ON/OFF in advance (

When Screen lock is set to other than [None] or [Slide or Touch],
register a command in Launch setting for every application of
Unlock by speech in advance (
n
P. 65).
You can change your commands (

Tap the back of the handset twice

The start sound is heard and the incoming lamp flashes in
white.

Speak your command
:
Speak the command while the incoming lamp is illuminating.

If the command is successfully recognized, the end sound is
heard and the incoming lamp flashes in blue.

If a certain amount of time passes before the command is
recognized, the error sound is heard and the incoming lamp
flashes in red.

When Screen lock is set to other than [None] or [Slide or
Touch] and unlocking by speech fails, the touch panel unlock
screen is displayed even if your command is correct.
Slide the touch panel with a finger while the display is turned off to
turn the display on.
Enable [Sweep ON] of Screen on/off with motion in advance
(

P. 63).
Shake the handset from side to side to turn the display off.
Enable [Shake OFF] of Screen on/off with motion in advance
(

P. 63).

Using Speech launcher
When you speak “
がめんおん
” (Screen on), the previously
viewed screen is displayed. When you speak “
ほーむ
” (Home),
the home screen is displayed.
Voice input
Speak at your natural speed. In the following cases, your voices
may not be recognized properly.
When the surrounding noise is big
When noises such as from clearing your throat are made
before or after the phonation
When the phonation is not clear such as when the phonation
is interrupted
When the phonation is not natural such as when you pause
between every two syllables
Try the followings when your voices are not recognized
properly.
Make sure not to speak too fast
Make sure to speak at the microphone and not to speak in
too small a voice
Make sure to speak 5 to 10 cm away from the microphone
Some words you speak may be recognized as other ones
depending on the pronunciation.
Unlocking by speech
Unlocking by speech is a function to unlock the touch panel with
voices when Screen lock is set to other than [None] or [Slide or
Touch].
If you register an unlock keyword in Unlock keyword settings of
Unlock by speech, you can unlock the touch panel with your
voices. If you register a command in Launch setting for every
application of Unlock by speech, you can unlock the touch
panel and directly activate an app at the same time (
n
P. 65).
Tap twice
Authentication is carried out to confirm whether the person who
has spoken the unlock keyword/command matches the one
who has registered it. If they do not match, you cannot unlock
the touch panel or activate an app.
If you unlock the touch panel by the unlock keyword, the
incoming lamp is illuminated in yellow. Speak your command
consecutively. If a certain amount of time passes before the
command is recognized, the incoming lamp flashes in yellow
and the display is turned on. After you unlock the touch panel
by the unlock keyword, you can use commands as well as the
one registered in Launch setting for every application.
For unlocking by speech, note the followings in addition to the
contents of “Voice input” stated above.
Unlock keywords may not be recognized when you speak
under an abnormal condition such as when you have a cold.
Speech launcher may not work properly when used by a
child of primary school age or younger.
Some voices such as those of your brothers or sisters may
be recognized as your voices by accident.
