SLIDING GATES
Fitting the bar rack
2.4
Assemble on every piece of rack its servo supports. Fix
•
them corresponding to the slots using the relevant screws
(Fig.4)
.
METHOD A
By electrowelding, fi x the rack
•
servo supports to the gate,
respecting the height “
H
” indicated in
Fig.5
.
Check that the various elements of the rack are perfectly
•
aligned ; use a third piece as opposed to two successive
elements:
Verify that the alignment of the rack is parallel to the rail;
to do this, slide the gate by hand and make sure that the
distance between the rack elements and a fi x mark on
the fl oor is always the same (if not, operate with suitable
thickness between the rack and the servo supports).
METHOD B (if the motor was already installed)
note: release the gear motor to move the gate by hand.
Verify the distance “
•
G
” between gate and motor unit with
respect to the table in
Fig.1
.
Open the gate by hand; lay the fi rst piece of rack on the
•
pinion “
R
” of the gear motor, so that one of side slot is
centered on the pinion.
Eg. in Figure: for the gate that
closes from right to left, align the slot “A”.

IMPORTANT
The different components of the rack must be well aligned
with each other.
The pitch between the teeth must be kept constant in
the joints.
NEVER LUBRICATE THE RACK..
Warning
!
DO NOT weld the rack sections directly on the gate panel
and DO NOT weld adjacent parts one to the other; do
not close the free space between them (any following
adjustments would be impossible).
NEVER apply the negative lead of the welder on the gear
motor.
NEVER WELD WHEN THE GEAR MOTOR IS CONNECTED
TO THE MAINS.
ALWAYS PROTECT THE WELDINGS WITH A ZINC-BASED
RUST-PREVENTER SPRAY.
After
•
positioning of all the pieces of the rack, weld
defi nitively all the servo supports.
Re-lock the gear motor at the end of operations.
•
Warning
!
To prevent gate from weighing on the operator pinion,
the whole rack must be raised 1 mm approximately, to
reach the right clearance between rack and pinion. To
do that, loose a bit the bolts securing the rack to the gate
and use the clearance into the slotted holes; then tighten
the bolts defi nitively.
