The front suspension consists of a hydraulic fork connected to the headstock by
means of two plates.
Each fork stanchion includes the following for adjusting the suspension setup of the
vehicle:
•
an upper nut (2) for adjusting spring preload.
•
an upper adjuster screw (1) for setting hydraulic rebound damping.
TO AVOID DAMAGE, DO NOT FORCE THE ADJUSTERS BEYOND THE MAXI-
MUM SETTING POSITION IN EITHER DIRECTION. SET THE SAME SPRING PRE-
LOAD AND HYDRAULIC DAMPING SETTING FOR BOTH STANCHIONS: RIDING
THE VEHICLE WITH DIFFERENT SETTINGS FOR THE TWO STANCHIONS RE-
DUCES STABILITY. WHEN SPRING PRE-LOAD IS INCREASED, REBOUND
DAMPING MUST ALSO BE INCREASED TO PREVENT EXCESSIVE SUSPEN-
SION KICKBACK WHEN RIDING.
The standard front fork setting is adjusted to suit most high and low speed riding con-
ditions, whether the vehicle is partially or fully loaded.
However, the setting can be modified for specific needs according to vehicle use.
CAUTION
FOR THE CORRECT SETTING PARAMETERS, READ THE PARAGRAPH "SET-
TING THE FRONT FORK" CAREFULLY.
TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO AN Authorised Aprilia Dealer, IF NECESSARY.
