Coolant circulation when coolant temperature is
below 75°C (167 °F).

The pump circulates coolant to the ducts (thermistors
detect temperature, temperature reading appears on
right-hand display of instrument panel)

coolant flows

out of ducts (on right-hand side of engine) to thermal
expansion valve (valve is fully closed) and back to the
pump.

Coolant circulation when coolant temperature is
between 75°C (167 °F) and 80°C (176 °F).

The pump circulates coolant to the ducts (thermistors
detect temperature, temperature reading appears on
right-hand display of instrument panel)

out of ducts (at the same time, coolant flows out of duct
on right-hand side of engine, and direct to thermal
expansion valve) to three-way manifold of left radiator
