6.3. First Start-up
At delivery, the boiler is set and tested for using the type of gas
reported on the rating plate. Before starting the equipment, go
through the following checklist:
• Make sure the available gas matches the type the boiler
is set for.
• Using the “IN” pressure tap on the gas valve, verify that the
inlet pressure to the valve matches the value required for
the type of gas used.
• Check that pressure in hydraulic circuit ranges from 1.2 to
1.6 bars.
• Check that electric wiring complies with requirements shown
in this manual or in other diagrams attached to the equipment.
• Make sure the unit is correctly grounded and compliant with
existing connection safety standards.
To turn the boiler on, do the following:
• Power on the blower, turn summer/0/winter switch (if installed)
on Winter, then select maximum speed (5).
• Make sure the boiler is connected to a room thermostat or
a SmartControl.
• Turn on the boiler using main switch (boiler three-pole plug
must be plugged in).
• When the boiler is powered, the ID2-IDC2 contact on elec-
tronic board closes, and start-up cycle is launched.
• If APEN remote control, a Smartcontrol or a SMART.NET
application is used, se relevant manual to find out start-up
procedure, then do the following.
It is possible that the burner does not start because of the pres-
ence of air in gas pipes. This would cause the boiler to lock up.
To unlock the unit, use the button on boiler display, then repeat
above procedure until the unit is fired.
6.4. Combustion Analysis
Wait until the boiler reaches maximum power.
Check again that the inlet pressure to the valve matches the
one required by the gas type. If it doesn't, adjust it.
Analyze the combustion, verifying that the CO
2
value matches
the one shown in the “GAS SETTINGS” table.
Should the measured value be different, adjust the screw on
the Venturi tube: Unscrew to increase the CO
2
value, screw to
decrease it.
Run the boiler at minimum rate and check if CO
2
value is the
same or slightly lower than CO2 value measured at maximum
capacity (up to -0.3%). If the two values do not match, regulate
OFFSET screw: screw to increase or unscrew to decrease CO
2
content. Then repeat the test.
Stack Cleaning Feature
The boiler can be forced to maximum or minimum capacity
using stack cleaning feature. This feature can be executed
from LCD display in REg menu with Hi (max power output) or
Lo (min power output). This feature is active only if the board
address is 0.
