5.4.2. Room Temperature Regulation
Room temperature regulation depends on the type of installation.
• One-zone system boiler;
• Multizone system boiler.
One-zone Installation
To warm a single room, a single regulator, SmartControl or room
thermostat is needed to start to boiler on.
SmartControl allows controlling several boilers (up to 30) in one
zone. Room temperature and working schedule have to be the
same for all controlled boilers.
Installation in Different Rooms
In first case,
• A room thermostat or a chronothermostat should be installed
in each room, together with a relay with two free contacts
for each zone.
• Use room thermostat contact to control the relay coil.
• Use one of these contacts to power the indoor room unit.
• Use the other to close the boiler’s ID2/IDC2 terminals
(parallel connection with other contacts of other relays, if
any). This means the boiler will turn on when a thermostat
issues a heat request. Water circulates to all room units
and partially heats also unwanted rooms.
Note: If all thermostats are OFF, the boiler is OFF, too.
In the second case:
• Install a zone valve and a room thermostat / chrono-
thermostat / SmartControl in each room.
• Use the stop of zone valve to close in parallel other
zone valve contacts and the boiler’s ID2/IDC2 contacts.
In such case, when a zone is open, the boiler starts
and water only circulates in the requested blower. If all
zones are closed, the boiler is off.
Note: In both cases the boiler can be connected to a Smart-
Control. Make sure room thermostat function is not enabled.
Required temperature should then be set to a value that
does not interfere with other thermostats, such as 35°C.
If available head in the the boiler is not enough for hydraulic
circuit, an additional circulator should be installed in the system,
taking into account the flow rate of the boiler’s circulator.
To install another circulator, insert an hydraulic separator between
primary [boiler - T1 and T2] and secondary circuit [T3 and T4].
