VERIFICATION
PROCEDURE
The performance verification procedure for the Anritsu 37XXXD VNA
is described below. The Software Users Guide (embedded within the
Verification Program) explains in detail the procedures to be used for
the installation and operation of the Verification Software on your
computer/controller.
Equipment Required:
q
Anritsu 3700 Verification Software (included in the Verification
Kit for the connector type in use; refer to Table 1-1)
q
External computer/controller; refer to Table 1-1
q
Anritsu Calibration Kit identical to the Test Port connectors of
the VNA; refer to Table 1-1
q
Anritsu Verification Kit identical to the Test Port connectors of
the VNA; refer to Table 1-1
q
GPIB cable (Anritsu PN: 2100-2), or equivalent
q
Anritsu Test Cable Model 3670K50-2 or 3670V50-2 or equivalent
NOTE
Use of non-Anritsu calibration or verification kits is not sup-
ported.
Procedure:
Step 1.
Using the GPIB cable, connect the external computer/con-
troller to the
IEEE 488.2 GPIB
Interface port on the VNA’s
rear panel.
Step 2.
Insert the CD ROM into the computer’s drive and install
the verification software.
Step 3.
Follow the directions displayed on the computer screen to
perform all tests.
If any failures are indicated, check the connectors of the
calibration kit devices and the impedance transfer stan-
dards for damage, cleanliness, proper connection, and
torquing. These are the most common causes for verifica-
tion failures.
If failures persist, run all of the tests in the 2300-178 pro-
gram, described in Chapter 4.
