Step 7.

Using the Marker Menu and Readout Marker key menus,
record the absolute value of markers 1 and 2 as follows:

q

Subtract one from the other.

q

Halve the difference

q

Add the resultant to the value of the marker at the low-
est peak (or the deepest trough).

This is the average value of the two peaks (or troughs).

Step 8.

Record the marker 3 value.

Step 9.

Find the absolute difference of the values recorded in step 7
and step 8. This is the Peak-to-Peak Ripple value. Use the
RF Measurement Chart (Table D-3) to find the correspond-
ing Return Loss value. This value is the Effective Source
Match. Insure Source Match measures at least 30 dB.

Step 10.

Change the S Parameter to S22. Move the outside wave-
guide section with the short attached to the Port 2 module.

Step 11.

Repeat Steps 4 through 9 to compute Port 2 Source Match.

Verify Port 2 Source Match is 30 dB minimum.
