Operator’s Manual

Periodic Maintenance 

Initial Maintenance (after 10 hours of operation) 

 

Follow the procedure below: 

 

                                           Rear View 

1.

 

  After  every  3  hours  of  use  check  the  Maintenance  Alert 

Reservoir for any fluid accumulation.  

2.

 

  If any fluid is present, unscrew the Reservoir bottle and empty 

the fluid. 

3.

 

  Screw the Reservoir into the instrument. 

   

                                                        

 

4.

 

  Turn the instrument off and disconnect the power cord from 

the power source.

5.

 

  Remove the back panel of the instrument. 

6.

 

  Visually inspect the area between the Packing Nut and the 

Maintenance Alert Collector. 

7.

 

  If leakage has occurred, clean the area thoroughly. 

8.

 

  Reconnect the instrument power cord to the power source and 

turn the instrument on. 

9.

 

  Press the 

AGITATE

 button on the front of the instrument so it is lit. This will turn the agitator motor on.

 

10.

 

  With the motor activated, turn the Packing Nut to the 

RIGHT

 until you hear a change in the sound of the motor. (The 

motor will start to labor as the packing nut gets harder to turn.) 

11.

 

  Loosen the Packing Nut slightly until the motor stops laboring. 

12.

 

  Turn off the instrument and re-install the back panel. 

13.

 

  Check the Maintenance Alert Reservoir after the next assay. 

Within the first 3 months or so, after every 120 hours of operation, repeat the Initial Maintenance procedure (all 13 steps 
above), 

whether you see leaks or not

. After that, execute the procedure once every 2 months, 

regardless of leaks

.

 

If you see a leak 

If you see a leak, execute the Initial Maintenance procedure above, loosening the Packing Nut 1/16 of a turn. If the leak continues, 
replace the packing and agitator.
