8.3 Routine Chamber
Maintenance
8.3.1 Clean Chamber Drain
Strainer
Recommended Frequency: The chamber drain strainer must be
cleaned at least once a day, preferably after the final cycle of the day
has been run. (The strainer will be wet and easiest to clean at this
time.)
1. Remove the drain strainer from the drain in the bottom of the
chamber as shown in
Figure 8-11 .
2. Remove any obvious debris from the strainer. If necessary, clear
the screen in the strainer using a brush, wire, or similar tool.
3. Once it has been cleared of obvious debris, position the strainer
upside down and flush under running water.
4. Replace the strainer in the chamber drain.

WARNING – BURN HAZARD:
Wear heat-protective gloves
prior to cleaning the chamber
drain strainer, unless the
sterilizer is cool.
