Step 2 Install Memory
The main memory subsystem on the motherboard includes four 32-bit memory banks that house SIMM (Single Inline Memory
Module) DRAM packages. You can use 256 KB x 36, 512 KB x 36, 1 MB x 36, 2 MB x 36, 4 MB x 36, 8 MB x 36, or 16 MB x 36
SIMMs. The SIMMs can be single-sided or double-sided. Fast page mode SIMMs operating at 70 ns (RAS access time) are required.
Motherboard Memory Configurations if 5V CPU Used
Valid SIMMs when using a 5V CPU in the Super Voyager PCI II motherboard include the following. Four single-sided or two double-sided
SIMMs can be used in the four memory banks. Or one double-sided and two single-sided SIMMs can be used. You can mix SIMM
types. You can use any valid SIMM in any bank. The following table provides only some examples of SIMM types. It is not an
exhaustive list of all valid SIMM combinations.
