3.9 Operating the Control Panel (Continued)
The operating modes described in Section 3.9.3 to 3.9.7 automatically appear on the control
panel’s LEDs (Figure 3.4). They tell you the unit’s current operating mode or alert you to a prob-
lem with the unit, the line or the battery.

3.9.3 Turning the Unit On
The following modes appear as the unit starts up.
Power Off
The LEDs are off. The power switch and the unit’s
electronics are turned off.
Unit OFF

Explanation
When the power switch is turned on, the LEDs
sequentially flash. If line power is qualified, the
unit automatically switches to Line mode. If not, it
can be manually started to provide backup
battery power to the loads (Section 3.9.2, 3.9.7).

The On Line (25%) LED is on. This is the normal
operating mode. The line is qualified (84 VAC to
157 VAC), the batteries are charging and the unit
is ready to supply backup power.
