3.9.4 Battery, Boost or Buck Modes
The following modes appear when the line is not qualified or the line voltage is low or high,
forcing the unit to provide backup power or adjust the input voltage.

LEDs show
Mode
Explanation
The On Battery (50%) LED is on. The line is
unqualified (Line voltage is less than 8
4
VAC or
greater than 1
57
VAC), and backup battery
power is provided to the load (Section 3.10).
Line
Requalifying
OR
The On Line and On Battery (25% and 50%)
LEDs are on. The unit is preparing to switch from
Battery mode to Line mode. When the line is
qualified, the unit waits before transferring to
make sure the line is stable.
Boost
or
Buck
Mode
The On Line (25%) LED is flashing. The unit’s
transformer adjusts the input voltage without using
the batteries.
•
It automatically switches into Buck mode when
line voltage is between 123 VAC to 157 VAC.
•
It automatically switches into Boost mode when
line voltage is between 102 VAC to 84 VAC.
